How Titan works to establish compliance

Prevailing wages are utilized by federal, state and local governments to establish a level playing field amongst Union and Non-Union contractors bidding on publicly funded construction projects. This ensures that both can bid on projects competitively and that lower wages are not the determining factor for who is awarded the work.

Prevailing wages at times are used as a tool to stimulate the economy. Ensuring that high union scale wages are going into blue collar pockets, the government can target impoverished areas throughout the country and inject good wages into hardworking local workers via construction.

Titans approach to attaining compliance has been developed over 20 years, 500+ construction projects and hundreds of billions of dollars of federal grant funded work. Titan has successfully retrieved tens of millions of dollars for under paid workers and this is how we do it…

Education, Monitoring and Enforcement.

Education- Throughout many years of performing compliance work one thing has become clear. Nearly all contractors violating prevailing wage laws are doing so simply because they were never taught how to properly integrate these laws into their companies. Titan has taught tens of thousands of construction companies how to price labor, track hours and trades, pay workers properly, complete reporting and limit liability. Titan has worked with government agencies for over 10 years, building highly effective internal labor compliance teams, design policy and procedure with procurement departments, finance, and investigation departments. Ultimately protecting grant funds and integrity. Without a single finding or concern in over 10 years of routine federal and state audits we have fine tuned our methodology to be effective and efficient.

Monitoring- Titan takes a lead roll in auditing, maintaining and pursuing contractors for the required reporting to maintain compliance on our projects. Auditing and assisting contractors with corrective action to ensure project success.

Enforcement- Titan is no stranger to the field. On our projects, you can expect to find our team on site- whether on land or at sea- working along side clients and personnel. Direct engagement with workers is fundamental to our process. Having conducted tens of thousands of worker interviews, Titan compares firsthand accounts with project documentation to ensure records accurately reflect field activities. This reconciliation is integral to our methodology and the integrity of our assessment. Non-willful violations are addressed through corrective action, while willful violations are pursued through appropriate legal channels. Titan collaborates closely with client legal teams and local, state, and federal enforcement partners to help ensure worker protection.
